Kendall Bistretzan (she/her) is a Calgary-based writer whose work has appeared in FreeFall Magazine, Avenue Magazine, Daily Hive, Blue Marble Review, and more. Her short story, Bedfellows, won Honourable Mention in the 2022 FreeFall Prose competition and silver for best fiction at the Alberta Magazine Publishers Association Awards. She is currently querying her debut novel, Hand Me Downs.
Kendall serves as the youth advisor board member with the Writers’ Guild of Alberta, where she works to identify and address the needs of writers under 30 in Alberta. She is also a founding member and Director of Communications for Sask Girls United, a non-profit that provides skills, resources, and mentorship to Saskatchewan youth through monthly online programs. Kendall served on the jury for the 2024 Saskatchewan Book Awards, and writes book reviews that can be found through various publications and on her Instagram, @kendallbistwrites.
